VStoike are decent if you're going the VPS route.
+1 vStoike. Absolutely awesome service they provide!
I've used both vStoike and EDIS, both awesome.
You just need a russian connection to start the game. After that you can use your home connection again.
For this purpose something like vpn.sh would be enough.
Why not your own RU NAT VPS?
Seems like they don't offer small packages anymore, which is sad as they are not the best place to go if you need it for VPN/small use and don't need 512MB RAM or more.
@jamaica do you plan to offer smaller (128MB/256MB RAM) yearly packages in a close future?
I also need a RU VPN for an hour to activate the Russian Gift. Anyone kind enough? Wont be using any b/w. (10-20MB hardly)
What 'gift' is this (?)
Counter-Strike Complete Game Gift
He doesn't work for vStoike anymore.

or without aff https://billing.starvps.ru/
Try this, StarVPS, cheap, but it seems a new provider, only 65 rub/m
If you are affiliate #2 yeah it looks like a pretty new provider...
Do you have any experience with them?
Cheap but i can't find the specs, bandwidth, hdd, cpu..
With google translate does not seem to work
256gb ram, 3gb hdd
I've heard Steam has disabled accounts abusing currency exchange rates. I would do this on an account you don't care about.
Indeed, that's the case. Foreign accounts activating RU/CIS region locked games have a high risk of getting banned and this has happened in the past.
Many resellers did take a big profit from this some years ago, still do nowadays.
I have VirtWire NAT IPv4 VPS Server. It is located in Saint Petersburg. And it's very slow (with nested virtualization) and its network connection is very crappy. (Although their German NAT VPSes are awesome). Are Russian NAT VPSes using vStoike?
I tested many VPSes in Russia.
has very slow and unstable network connection, and they use very old hardware (E54xx Core2 Gen). And now they are not too reliable.
https://firstbyte.ru/vps-vds/ovz-ssd/ has quite good network and low price.
Yep, FirstByte looks promising, indeed, it seems their team is experienced and qualified enough, but they launched a month ago. People have been DDoSing them for the last couple days.
They say in the news they have "Implemented DDoS protection for all customers", and their test IP (posted in the header, same as the website IP) is currently routed via Voxility going through Frankfurt -- even when traced from Russia. You will still get your GeoIP for the Steam scam, but don't expect good latency to Russia or Eastern Europe with this provider.
Got a VPS from vstoike. Awesome speed.
