Need help in installing CentOS 6.7 on OVH

Hey all,

Recently, I installed CentOS 6.7 on my OVH server with custom partitioning and stock kernel.

But after installing, I saw it was CentOS 6.6 and there were many partitions created that were not made by me or specified during Custom Partitioning.

I do have IPMI access but it is taking forever while installing from ISO.

Can anyone help?

About centos versions i think its by ovh mistake, about partition which you did not created it maybe you should paste here partition configuration.

  • just update yum, partitions can only be created by you during installation setup

Yes...during installation setup only...I created three partitions: /, swap and a lvm /storage.

After installation, it turned out that there were many partitons created. Each with size 1.72 GB each and each had a name like named (I don't remember exactly...will be updating soon)

You need to get rid by:

rpm -e bind-chroot; service named restart

lol. you even did bump up the wrong necro thread.

I suggest putting a filter for lowendtalk in your routers blacklist to safe yourself from doing more damage.

go on holiday and come back after summer, maybe than you have something to offer at all and are able to hold back on the need to just answer to anything...
