Peer with my friend?

So recently, one of my friend became a LIR and want to "peer" with my ASN for studying purpose...

But both of us don't know how to peer each other because we don't have any physical equipments (e.g. router)...

Both of us are providers, but just renting machines or colocating from DCs.

Any ideas about peering each other? (Only IPv6 is okay)

  • I suspect that your DC will be filtering BGP traffic leaving their network so you'll probably have to set up some kind of a L2 tunnel between the two servers.

Why should they filter BGP? That's a regular TCP protocol like HTTP. But to establish a working BGP setup, you need something like Layer2/Layer3 Tunnels, that's correct.

If you want to study bgp, do it on dn42. Works a treat, and is completely free .. you just need a vps. You get a /24 last time i checked for IPv4 and they also support IPv6.
