Encryption suggestion - Windows?
Hi all,
I was wondering what encryption software you use for Windows, ideally I'm after something that requires you to have a USB stick to be able to boot the machine.
I have multiple copies of Windows, however all are Home editions so I understand that Bitlocker isn't included as standard unfortunately.
Opensource is good but don't mind paying something if the software is "better" or has more features.
Encrypting drives is new to myself, however I know there are a few people who are fairly clued up with encryption etc on here so thought it'd be worth the ask.

Doesn't Windows 10 have encryption by default?
What version are you running?
It's Windows 10 home which I don't think includes the encryption.
Seems it requires the TPM 2.0 chipset and InstantGo (allows instant wakeup / connected stand by).

yeah, it also backs up the keys to onedrive so basically makes it useless
TrueCrypt is great, but I'm not sure about Windows 10 compatibility.
Yeah, it's compatible. At least 7.1a is.

Did I read that true crypt has been audited and had some issues?
TrueCrypt has a few issues but it is apparently secure and has no back doors.
I use VeraCrypt. They fixed TC issues there and improved things.
Truecrypt is good. But if you are looking something more, then 2FA would be an ideal, duosecurity will be another thing.
