Bad windows update

http://www.infoworld.com/article/3004441/microsoft-windows/microsoft-surreptitiously-reissues-botched-patch-kb-3097877-for-windows-7.html

Seems kb3097877 is causing massive issues. Currently have a bunch of machines not getting to the login prompt and only have a mouse cursor.

  • Had an alert about this 7am this morning.

Update declined in WSUS and has been disabled in SCCM.

  • Only had two computer affected by this and both crashed Outlook when downloading images from a html e-mail so not much of an issue in my world. :)

Not every Windows version experienced these issues. Most work pretty well.

I have had about a dozen +. All windows 7. Not sure if others took the update OK, or haven't applied them yet.

  • They have just released an update for the update that resolves the issue..
