System for automated subdomain creation?
Not the best title, but I got a domain and I want to allow people to create their own pages under this domain and get their own link like http://userX.domain.tld. Is there a good way to do this if I don't want to use Wordpress?

userX.domain.tld is wordpress blog or sub domain with DNS manager
Not sure if this is what you want...

You can create a wildcard dns A record and catch all subdomains in nginx/apache and do stuff with it.
Thanks for your suggestions. I have to admit that I haven't thought this thru entirely yet. The idea is that you should be able to go to domain.tld and sign up with a username of your choice. You should then get a page like http://username.domain.tld for login etc.
Seems like Wordpress would be easiest, but I haven't had much experience with it to be honest.
@Aene I've done this, and I did what @vfuse said, create a wildcard DNS record to point to a server (or a cluster of servers/load balancers, if needed), then do the actual work on the PHP/server sides of things
