Point different sub domain to different VPS?

Hiya,

Is it possible to point sub-domains of the same domain to different VPS servers? So I can access

test.domain.com - VPS1 server
server.domain.com - VPS2 server
www.domain.com - VPS3 server

etc?

In this way I can remember all my VPS servers with the subdomain I put on rather than the IP addresses.
Thanks

Yes, that's possible. Although wouldn't it been faster just testing it instead of opening a thread?

  • I believe this is the point of having subdomains...

Yes, you can. Just point subdomain to ip.
If you set ptr / reverse dns you still need A record also.
    And it's usually using subdomain.

  • Okay thanks namhuy. It's working. Cheers

You can also point CNAME record to a website you host on that VPS

  • You can use Pointing "A" record to "vps Ip"
