nsd can hand a lot of dns zones & requests in a few MBs of memory. With two LEB's that average 98% uptime and cost less than $2/month, the probability of one being up is 99.96%. Add a third one and improve it further :)

  • Well, anyone using SolusVM can now create a PowerDNS cluster, as I have done just that and provide access to it to any customer for the asking, with servers in both of my locations and a 3rd at RocketVPS. I haev not seen any downtime with this setup since it was available in beta for SolusVM. This is also powering the rDNS for me. I could care less how many querries you receive, I can't see any reason for it or why other free/paid DNS providers do limit this, other than the greed factor.

  • I use Cloudflare :)
