Love this guy. Really look forward to seeing how Cloudive grows.
I am really thinking about this, it seems like a great deal. Only killer is continuum
@Spencer, if you have any doubts about the connection we can allow you to test it
@jarland, thanks a lot man!
BGP of Continuum:
http://bgp.he.net/AS53264
It is good as a testing/dev/for fun server, I have a dedi colo-ing with them and absolutely love it, but for prod? I don't know.
@zhuanyi, we have gone through months of research and testing and had absolutely zero network issues with Continuum.
I tested the network last night and it seemed to do quite well. Full disclosure: I've worked with Oktay on a good bit of stuff. I've nothing to gain from him doing well with this, I just feel like anyone who hasn't worked with him is missing out.
Let's keep going..
Hi!, do you have an AUP available, I was wondering if IRC was allowed on cloudive.
@JoeMerit, we currently allow what is legal in Illinois. IRC is allowed.
Thanks, will perhaps give it a try. Looks like a good deal for the amount of redundancy and resources offered.
So I went and signed up and everything seems okay. They use their own custom panel which seems to work well (but took some getting used to.) Here are the results from the popular bench.sh script:
CPU model : Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU X5650 @ 2.67GHz

Seems to be performing alright and the SSD is giving that nice 1.0 GB/s result, the HDD storage gives a result of about 238MB/sec as I write this. (Plan comes with both SSD & HDD storage)
@JoeMerit, thanks a lot for sharing the benchmark.
Seems to perform better than other KVM VPS I've tried down in this price range yet offers a lot more redundancy . So thumbs up on this deal.
My only real problem was trying to decide how to partition my storage This is my first vps where storage is handled by two independent systems (10 gig SSD and 10 gig HDD), decided to put / on ssd and /home on hdd. will see how this works out.
Why are you selling your domain?
@muj, we are not selling our domain. We have bought the domain name from some 3rd party. I think it still stays at sale on Sedo. However, it's not for sale.
I've contacted Sedo to take care of it.

Whats up with Softlayer, do they have bad connectivity or what? I've seen these low numbers on various tests.
Also, testing the speed from your server (http://64.79.111.3/128mbfile.dat), is it on gigabite? I'm unable to get past 4MB/s. Is it limited in any way?
@emilv, It's 1Gbps. It's not limited. Can you please show me a traceroute from your server?
