@Randy
@Zetta Ask ranty or neo for free license
give me a break. its was over
Client wants to use wowzaServer (video streaming) but is not comfortable with linux and don't want to pay me for any maintenance, so giving then an option of playing on top of windows 2003/2008. Can install it on Win7 also but performance will be better on Server OS when more users stream - IMO.
So now my question - issit Personal or Commercial use? :P
and another - can i use the Websitespark licence?
i had registered at Websitespark sometime back, but not spent much time on it or used any keys from it. The keys from there are or trial or forever?
Looking at the prices i don't think client can purchase it right now.
Thats why i was looking for some provider who charges Monthly and lease the license.
Another option is to change the DC (to one who provides win2003/2008 monthly) but then cost will go up (actually can't find better deal than dacentec) and i've already send server costings to client.
So it might happen again?
I have used Windows 2008 R2 SP1 x64 Web Edition from WebSpark program on one of OVH dedicated server... works fine.
@n0my ofcourse it works, but its not legal i think
It works but it's against the license agreement IIRC.
Edit: @djvdorp beat me
oh, I didn't know.
If you want to lease monthly, use a SPLA provider. There's no minimum commitment so even for one license you're good.
The agreement is only cancelled if you report zero usage for six months.
you meen against ms tos.. not illegal.
