Don't know what's so special about the kindle fire - after all it is just another tablet. But i definitely like the new kindle paperwhite with the integrated reading light - i am getting one soon.
Price isn't bad at all IMHO, either that or the nexus, I think they are around the same price range... if only my android browsers wouldn't crash when I load a few flash sites

The old Kindle Fire is $159 and the new one retails for $199
Isn't the Kindle Fire $159 and the Kindle Fire HD $199? They made multiple models including HD now.

They sounded great to me until I read this: http://mobile.slashdot.org/story/12/09/08/1755259/no-opt-out-for-ads-on-new-kindle-fires
Having said that, the regular kindle with ads isn't available here in the UK, so maybe our kindle fires will escape this fate too...

@MrLabradoodle That's some A-grade PR competency from Amazon. No wonder people buy iDevices by the bucketload.
This years Android tablets are starting to catch on now, its not too long before they do the same thing Android phones did to the iPhone.
@MrLabradoodle You mean its not long before Apple sue the major manufacturer successfully for patent violations?
They are only successful majorly in the US because of its outdated patent system.
So... you'd agree with my prediction?
Well yes, Apple will make stupid software patents. But only because they want to restrict competition.
