Best control panel for Debian

I'm looking for a solid free panel for Debian or Ubuntu Server. This is for a personal box that myself and a few friends will be hosting sites on.

use vestacp for easiest to install,.

  • +1 for vestacp, easy to use interface and fast.

    Alternatives: i-MSCP, ISPConfig

    Thanked by 1mehargags
  • VestaCP is good, installation is a breeze... ( from personal experience ).

Ajenti looks good too, but my experience on it was not that good. The UI was crawling on a dedicated server running Debian 7. I have no idea why it was so.

  • CentOS webpanel. Well i tried vestacp not like it. Installed centOS webpanel and like it. Try both of them.

Is CentOS Webpanel possible under Debian?

  • (well sorry. CentOS )

    :/

    But better... i think. Stable.

  • +1 for VestaCP... Can run nGinx only now without Apache

i-MSCP looks good too, but haven't used it on production server, don't know if it works with nGinx

You can try Froxlor as well.

+1 for i-mscp. It's secure than most free open source panels. I've been using it since 2010, and would choose it even if I could get cpanel for free.

  • I like Webmin

    @hostnoob Webmin for shared hosting?

    Virtualmin/Cloudmin

Webmin is working fine for many of my Debian based boxes :)

Is that true? Which update? Mine is still apache and nginx only.

For OP, I'm highly suggedt ISPConfig. I love the features it has.

I have not tried my hands with the latest version yet but following their forum posts I guess the latest version does have nGinx/php-fpm. Their may be bugs in the new Version so just check it thoroughly before putting it to production.

Yes, their latest version (3.0.5.4 Patch 8) does have Nginx+PHP-FPM working perfectly. I am using VestaCP on one of my servers, and ISPConfig on the others, I love ISPConfig better.

    Virtualmin

    • 1 ISPConfig ...

you really dont need the panel working for your sites to be working...

  • Virtualmin.
But if you want something super simple, then VestaCP.
ISPConfig is awesome but overkill in this case.

Go with vesta CP it's great and reliable.

Why use a control panel when bash lets you do anything under the sun?
