Can't mount a drive?
I recently got a SSD upgrade from my dedi provider, and I'm trying to mount it into a directory of my home folder, but it's giving me this error:
Operating system: Ubuntu 11.10
Command:
$ sudo mount -t ext4 /dev/sdb /home/-----/ssd
Result:
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sdb,
missing codepage or helper program, or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
dmesg | tail or so
dmesg:
[ 3747.791746] EXT4-fs (sdb): VFS: Can't find ext4 filesystem
I'm not really good at mounting drives linux, so forgive me if this is a noob question.

Did you format it (with ext4) before mounting?
Nope, I'll try that now with:
mkfs.ext4 /dev/sdb?Okay works now, thanks @gsrdgrdghd
