I need help with kimsufi fr (Kimsufi 16G)

edited August 2012 in Help

http://www.kimsufi.com/fr/

I see Kimsufi 16G have GigaEthernet (1000mbs), but Guaranteed bandwidth is 100mbs
I can't read french, i'm confused. I have to create 6 seedbox (torrent) for 6 user, can each user have 1000mbs/6=166mbs ?

P/S: I am not french, I can order it.

Comments

  • No, it is only connected by 100Mbit, and this speed is not guaranteed at all.
The line just says that the network card COULD do 1Gbit, if anyone would connect it (which they don't do).

    1. Here's the English Kimsufi Site: http://www.kimsufi.co.uk/
    2. What William said, its only a 100Mbit connection ("unmetered" up to 10TB, then you're down to 10Mbit connection)
    3. No your user connection isn't distributed evenly like you think, basically each one takes up however much it needs/can sustain. If the amount needed is more than 100Mbit then I actually don't know, but I doubt it'll be distributed evenly (anyone want to explain that?)

Edit: can you read French? Because you obviously know the English site is there because you made that previous post about Kimsufi earlier.

  • On chrome just right click and choose translate to english lol.

  • I not sure, but kimsufi french have no limit, the connection will not limited to 10 Mbps if exceed 10TB/month

  • They sometimes put you on 1Gbit and forget to limit you to 100Mbit.

First gets everything unless he runs QoS.

  • @William: Thanks

@sieuvocmaytinh: Honestly, its the same servers on the same network that you're buying from.

I'm pretty sure that's right - the 5/10/15TB limits don't apply to orders on kimsufi.com (my Manager doesn't even show bandwidth use, just "Unlimited" - I had to write a script to get it from their API).

kimsufi.co.uk's website (under the price table). Of course it could be different for Kimsufi.com (I actually don't know)

    • : The traffic is unlimited. If you exceed 5TB/month for the Kimsufi 2G, 10TB/month for the Kimsufi 16G or 15TB/month for the 24G Kimsufi the connection will be limited to 10 Mbps. You can buy additional TB of traffic directly from your manager: £0.89 per TB. (Your connection will be restored after what you have exceeded has been taken away).

If you look on Kimsufi.com, that line of fine print is missing.

Here's what OVH Manager v3 shows for me:
    image

The SOAP API shows my data usage (monthlyTraffic), but it also returns null for currentQuota, nextTrafficReset, monthlyQuota and nextQuotaReset. The monthlyTraffic resets to zero on my billing date.

  • Hm, that's nice then :P I should have used kimsufi.com then!

You can order from anywhere in the world.

    http://www.kimsufi.com <- Everyone Else

For the English Version of Kimsufi.com, go here:
http://www.ovh.co.uk/commande/kimsufi.cgi (or any of the link above really)

I have already use kimsufi 2GB
    1 month ago, i seen kimsufi 2GB is 14.99€/mo, but i have to order 3month and VAT ~20% => total: 53.78 €
    so, I order from 10GB, http://www.10gb.in/whmcs/cart.php?gid=7
20€/1mo. They push kimsufi 2GB to my OVH nick

yesterday, i received mail form OVH and 10gb.in
    - 10gb.in: Pay 20€
    - OVH: Pay 14.99€, VAT 0%

    i'm confused !

I am not french, can i pay my server with Vietnam VISA Card at OVH.com?

  • Maybe you should contact that provider you purchased from, asking them about it.

You can change it to a monthly contract during checkout at ovh.com. You don't have to go to a reseller for monthly contract.

@biplab: Thank you, How can i change it to monthly when i order new kimsufi 2GB?
    https://www.ovh.com/fr/commande/kimsufi.cgi

  • Look for the following line when you reach step 3.

    Changer la durée de location

Click that link and you will be presented with a popup to select monthly contract.

    No.

Personally I first ordered with VAT, but did not pay the invoice. Then I got contacted by their support who asked for scans of documents (the usual OVH stuff). And after I sent those, the first invoice was discarded and a new one was generated with 0% VAT.
