VPS Prep

We've recently discussed hardening a new VPS, but what do you actually do to prepare the VPS for production from the OVZ images?

I realise there's Minstall etc, but what are you running to ensure you have a trim and slick image? Not necessarily for a high traffic site, so it doesn't need to fit into a 32MB VPS, just efficient enough for day-to-day operations.

This is what I've come up with;

But I'm interested to know if there are better, more efficient solutions/scripts around and hoping people would share.

    drop the host and grab xen/kvm

    nginx is ++

    you might want to look into using postgres or an alternative to mysql.
