Cheap Geo DNS?

I know this might sound odd on lowendtalk but it's so easy these days to get cheap VPSes at several places and so I am wondering whether there's a cheap DNS service which would serve different IPs based on GeoIP.

  • I would do DNS servers myself if I need some Geo-based DNS or Round-robin. Two 128MB tiny boxes would suffice...

Yea, do it yourself, it's easy enough. I would recommend powerdns.

  • If a dollar a month is cheap, AWS Route 53

  • Pretty simple to do yourself with a service like PowerDNS if you wanted to buy a couple of different budget VMs in different locations. If you were looking for a DNS service, I'd recommend no-ip

  • buyvm.net provides free anycast network, which would be great for running GeoDNS.
Certainly much cheaper than getting your own IP space, ASN, and announcing yourself.
