Request for development server
Hey all,
I need a fast development server for a new open source project.
VT: OVZ or KVM, preferably KVM as will need docker support
RAM: 2 GB will do
HDD: 50 GB
PORT: 1Gbit or 100mbit
BANDWIDTH: 500 GB (realistically won't burn more than 100 GB/mo)
IPs: 1 (however, I wouldn't mind an extra one)
Payment Methods: visa/bitcoin/paypal, willing to verify ID if it's an issue
Term: 6-12 months
Location: North America/UK preferably
Comments
Hi,
Why not go with Netherlands location on Scaleway?
Take care,
Issues have been bolded.
You almost got there, what's you're budget?
Intentionally left it out, looking for offers, no budget, but be reasonable, ie I'm not going to pay $100 a year for 2GB KVM with 50 GB HDD
Well I've got AWS credits that I'm willing to waste. Just sayin, if you feel like you could use an extra server.
Bought a $6 train ticket to a hackathon last year and ended up with hundreds of $ of AWS credits that won't expire until Dec 2017.
Lucky you, I went to a full day AWS event and didn't get anything but nice food.
I was going to suggest SpeedyKVM but they are out of your budget, had some very good experiences with them lately.
@francisco : Slices may be ?
Once went to a MS tech event. Promised a catered lunch. We were served Costco style meat/cheese, veggies and fruit trays. To boot, there were about 200 people in attendance and only about half that many chairs available to sit and eat our meager lunch. Plenty of vulgar Balmer chair jokes that day...
Website shows the slices are sold out...again.
How does the folloing sound?
KVM - 2048MB - $4.99/month
2048MB RAM
2 CPU Cores
50GB HD space
2000GB Bandwidth
1 IPv4
3 IPv6
1Gbps
Roilan
By 3 IPv6 did you mean /128 assignments?
Just 3 single IPv6s.
12hrs ago, Dediserve or InceptionHosting BlackFriday KVMs would have been a snap decision.
UltraVps/providerservice SSD vps are still good at their regular prices:
(note ultravps.eu is a Bradler&Krantz german brand. Ultravps.com is a Versaweb USA brand)
3,78 euro per 2gb ram increment (without VAT)
Amsterdam or Dallas should be ready to order anytime
https://www.ultravps.eu/en/order/order.pl?cat=cloudserver
CPU on hosts in amsterdam and
FrankfurtDusseldorf is a fast X5670.Yes, sorry I literally have like 3GB spare, but i'm not sure if it'll meet @gcat's budget.
For what it's worth, things are getting closer on the EU/East coast stuff
Francisco
But you said late November! (blank stare)
@GCat, maybe check if @AnthonySmith's KVM packages are still available. By the looks of his last thread, it seems like both USA and UK KVMs aren't sold out (yet).
USA and a 'few' UK KVM's will be made available again after 5pm today due to people not following through with payment.
It's in the works
Francisco
It's like Christmas came early!!
Until I have replaced all my Vegas slices with EU slices, I'm afraid that @Francisco and I are no longer on talking terms.
Exactly! My beard is getting longer and these broken promises make me think of that "Why do you build me up, Buttercup" song. Other times, I feel like I'm being rick-rolled.
I don't want to see hardware in a trolley. I want to see it as line items in my invoices
I've already got a slice, if you've got any spare space I'll pickup another one
Worse, those look like empty server chassis
they're barebones There's a motherboard in there if you look closely.
I've been having some delays on turnups for the racks so I haven't had them shipped over. I got the CPUs/RAM/SSDs all ordered and waiting to be shipped along side them. Once there I'll fly over, build, rack, and be merry.
Francisco
Let me know what plan in PM and I'll try to get you sorted good sir.
Francisco
@GCat
