DDoS protection on a tiny 256MB RAM web server?

Hello, i wanted to ask if the DDoS protection is anyhow effective when having low RAM (256-512 MB) VPS and a website/s on it.

Assuming smaller attack size, Nginx or Apache, Wordpress...

I am looking on this offer: https://www.lowendtalk.com/discussion/97395/sharp-servers-openvz-vps-starting-from-1-month-ddos-protected

At which RAM size and on which web server software average DDoS protection advertised at 300+Gbps makes sense (may prevent VPS to be put offline)?

thx
