Oracle buys Dyn
https://www.oracle.com/corporate/acquisitions/dyn/index.html
"On November 21, 2016, Oracle announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire Dyn, the leading cloud-based Internet Performance and DNS provider that monitors, controls, and optimizes Internet applications and cloud services to deliver faster access, reduced page load times, and higher end-user satisfaction. The proposed transaction is subject to customary closing conditions. Until the transaction closes, each company will continue to operate independently."

0/10 needs more DDoS protection
Oracle does cloud? Who knew! Not me.
They try to, with the same proprietary overpriced crap, except now trying to charge you continuously for it.
Trump sells Oracle to NSA
... and that is the end of that.
Cancelled my subscription just in time.
I remember when Dyn got started .. back when dial-up internet and dynamic addresses were normal .. was a right pain trying to host any kind of service ..
look where we are today .. spin up a VPS in twenty seconds you're good to go
I wonder if Oracle thought they were buying a "patent on DNS".
Francisco
The Dyn division known as Dyn Research (formerly Renesys) produces some interesting articles, such as their annual "Baker's Dozen" series. I hope Oracle doesn't kill it.
Monkey talk
iswas an automation tool for testing which we were using extensively. Oracle bought monkey talk and killed that monkey.Good ol' Larry E buying instead of building. Why build Route53 when you can buy Dyn!
