US VPS for FreePBX

Looking for a US VPS (Preferably Eastern US) To run FreePBX maybe 1 or 2 Trunks. Personal use no spam calls etc. Its light use so budget is a little low if possible.

2GB Ram (Unless FreePBX can run fine lower?)
30GB HD or SSD.

Ability to have the ISO installed. Its Pretty much CentOS with FreePBX installed atop of it.

Budget is around $5 if possible. Thanks.

  • Is FreePBX supported on OpenVZ (manual install without ISO?).

If that's a viable option we can do this in Atlanta or Ashburn for $5/month.

I think so, but its way to much work and too much time to install it than I have time for sadly.

  • How about $7/month? Located in Tampa, FL https://portal.vapornode.com/?cmd=cart&action=add&id=111

We can throw in 5GB extra disk space too.

What about the install of FreePBX? Thanks.

  • @HuntersPad We can throw the FreePBX ISO on it for you; no problem.

FreePBX will run fine on 1GB RAM. Depends on how many concurrent calls you are interested in and if you are doing transcoding.

  • I have FusionPBX (Freeswitch + WebUI) running in a 512MB LXC container, biggest problem with a lot of the asterisk based distros is they'll want to load the dahdi kernel modules so won't work on OpenVZ/LXC.

Afaik it's used for conferencing so if you are not using that you don't actually need dahdi and you could probably install Asterisk without it.

  • Kernel modules have not been needed for conferencing for quite a few years. Provided the environment can provide reliable timing the ConfBridge application works fine.
