How to migrate a live cPanel Server with least down time ?.

    To another cpanel server ?

Use their migration tools, do a bulk migration and chose the options for express migration, so that it updates DNS .... that's assuming your using cpanel dns.

  • Use cpmove to migrate accounts and then change IP of servers

  • Update 2nd NS to new ip 24 hour in advance, Finish migration, shut off the old server or ADD a record on your old DNS zone and point it to new server.

    /scripts/pkgacct --skip-homedir [username]
    scp the file over
    /scripts/restorepkg [username]
    rsync the home directories over
    change A record

  • Server host about 250 websites.
    Its Cpanel to Cpanel Migration.
    Some Sites Have Dedicated ip's
So which one is better ?.

  • @adarshv are they all using your nameserver?

It's all in whm. Crazy easy. If the sites are updated a lot by users you may have some issues if you migrate everything before they propagate.

What would y'all recommend for moving from a shared hosting provider to another? (cPanel to cPanel)

I'd like to basically find the best way to replicate everything, soon I'll be needing to move a major site.

    @Andre
Make a full backup from cpanel and send it to the host
    or
Give your old details to your new host and get them to do it from whm
