What do you want to see in Black Friday/Cyber Monday LEB offers?

For me:

  • I'm usually more of a RAM guy than a CPU guy. But I do love providers who can do add-on disk.

  • KVM and custom ISO

  • Storage offers are always nice.

  • One can never have too many "offshore" providers. But then we need lots of disk and bw because Linux ISOs are bulky.

  • Online.net, LW and OVH offers.

  • Personally looking forward to some BudgetNode offers. I hear they have new boxes with 256GB of RAM.

Budget Brazzers subscriptions, the launch of @pbgben's shared porn server, the return of 32MB ram plans, the porn-enabled toaster @joepie91 promised me, an fresh set of offers from @sz1...etc

  • More cheap KVM yearlies with DDOS protection in Europe.

I have plenty of dedis in France to do the heavy lifting.

    KVM

    • min 1 core; prefer 2 core
    • 1 IPv4, +IPv6
    • min 512MB RAM
    • Able to mount custom ISO
    • 1TB Bandwidth / Gbit port
    • 15 GB Disk
    • "Interesting locations" - South America, Australia, Asia, (+ Dallas, Chicago)
    • IP(s) that properly geolocate (i.e., whois, etc) to actual location
    • No "fee" for blacklist* - outbound TCP 25 blocked is OK
    • max $2.50 USD/mo, Paypal accepted
    • No yearly plans; will switch to max quarterly if stable provider

    Dedicated Server (baremetal, no "slice")

    • 8 Cores/16 Threads
    • /29 or /28 IPv4 (doesn't matter if in same subnet or individual IPs), +IPv6
    • min 24GB RAM
    • min 2x1TB Disk
    • 10TB Bandwidth / Gbit port
    • rDNS
    • firewalled IPMI or via VPN
    • Los Angeles, Europe (outside of France and Germany), Seattle, Dallas -- (in that order)
    • IP(s) that properly geolocate (i.e., whois, etc) to actual location
    • max $40 USD/mo, Paypal accepted

    Colo

    • 1U
    • 2A @ 120v
    • min /28 IPv4 (doesn't matter if in same subnet or individual IPs), +IPv6
    • min 10TB Bandwidth/ Gbit port
    • rDNS
    • firewalled IPMI or via VPN
    • Los Angeles, Seattle
    • IP(s) that properly geolocate (i.e., whois, etc) to actual location
    • $50 USD/mo, Paypal accepted

FYI, the blacklist comment is not because I have caused IP to get on blacklist; it is because provider(s) have had the IP on the list from the start and I don't want there to be any misunderstanding/fee because of their previous customer.

  • I'm hoping to find some dedicated servers with price+resources to convince me to release some more of the VPSs that I've accumulated over the past year.

I'm unsure if I could ever buy Online-net again, but I'm sure they'll drop a price that'll make me consider otherwise.

VPS-wise, I avoid OpenVZ like plague and prefer full-virt offerings that are low-latency for me (i.e. hosted in Europe as opposed to USA).

  • There are enough vps deals. Even there was a $3 per year with own ipv4 last week. I am waiting for sale on dedicated servers. Say it less then $5 per month, recurring.

It'll be nice if @Francisco could get up some more of the Bigger KVM Slices, since they've been out of the stock the last few times Ive checked. A Black Friday Promo would be a plus.

  • Not sure how cheap Dedis are gonna drop.. Electricity and bandwidth cost.

  • I'd like to see the 75% off OVH Premium bandwidth to come back.

  • $3/y 128mb NAT KVM with at least 5 offshore locations & DDOS protection.
