I tried to install in my VPS with ubuntu 16.04 x64, but there was error:

root# dpkg -i aruba-serclient_0.01-1_all.deb

(Reading database ... 153732 files and directories currently installed.)

Preparing to unpack aruba-serclient_0.01-1_all.deb ...

Unpacking aruba-serclient (0.01-1) over (0.01-1) ...

Setting up aruba-serclient (0.01-1) ...

/var/lib/dpkg/info/aruba-serclient.postinst: 3: /var/lib/dpkg/info/aruba-serclient.postinst: initctl: not found

/var/lib/dpkg/info/aruba-serclient.postinst: 6: /var/lib/dpkg/info/aruba-serclient.postinst: initctl: not found

dpkg: error processing package aruba-serclient (--install):

subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 127

Processing triggers for ureadahead (0.100.0-19) ...

Errors were encountered while processing:

Anyone can help ?

Thx

There was no menu for install extra control management in their panel, from their guide, i have to download aruba-serclient from their website and install it in my vps.

Unfortunately, their Extra Control Management (useful to monitor bw etc.) app is still based on the "old" initctl system, and won't start with a modern Ubuntu based on systemd. Either convert their software to systemd by hand (ahem...), or report the annoying lack of functionality through their support desk and wait for a fix.

Irrelevant... the OP refers to the Extra Control Management in-house app which adds functionality (monitoring, API...) on top of their web-based server management.

  • Its working fine with Ubuntu Server 14.04 LTS 64bit

I already tried to contact their support, they said,
"Extra Control is a beta service provided without cost and as-it-is, no software support can be provided."

I think monitoring bw,cpu, memory is important, they should fix this issue.

Any advise so I can monitor my vps ?

    How did you install it?
On my side, I enabled the Extra control through the email. Then I installed the pkg.deb, then rebooted and nothing is happening in the "Monitoring" tab.
I am also using Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 64 bits.
    Thanks!
