Just saw this, I think its disgusting and that they could have done a lot better than just basic bootstrap

  • Someone opened a ticket yesterday or today asking us to look at it. I think it looks good.

Reminds me of @MrAndroid's PiePanel! Well.. the main page.

  • I don't like twitter bootstrap skins. WHMCS did that and i hated it then, and i hate it now.

  • I was going to do this!

Looks like their old panel with glorified bootstrap.

Probably much easier to customize though.

I think it looks good apart from the fact that it uses the default bootstrap theme. Bootstrap, from what I have interpreted, was only created as a base framework and was intended to be customised, hence the small custom generator on their site. Their grid system is great and they have some good elements but I think you need to download their .less files and build your own UI components to give it an original feel.

  • Yeah. Personally I feel like they didn't really customize it enough and therefore still has that generic touch.

I'd say change the colors some more, add more "content" than that giant amount of white space. Main page I like, everything else just seems hastily put together.

Have you not seen the newer version?

  • I agree with @DamienSB. No more bootstrap skins!

  • It's much better than the old one. What's your problem?

    ^ This?

  • Bootstrap is great, if and only if, you tweak it enough to make it look nice and not bootstrap.

    Default bootstrap -> NO!

Right after I posted that I went in and saw the newer version.

I like the newer version, but my statement no longer stands :(

    This looks terrible.

  • Ugly as fuck.

Looks great to me. I know hating on bootstrap is the hipster thing to do right now but it's better than without it.

  • I guess it may make it easier for users to expand upon/theme

  • Personally, I really like BuyVM's Stallion theme.

Agreed ha. Relatively speaking, much better than before.

Did they finally change it from the default solus theme?

  • LeeLee Veteran

As it's built on basic Bootstrap it will be so easy to make it your own and integrate it.

Maybe he's talking about stallion 2? Stallion 2's is based on bootstrap but we hired out the design work to a pretty good UI designer.

This is what an OpenVZ would look like - http://imgur.com/WDKswfP

KVM's page will be a little less filled since there's less data I can present but we'll see.

It was expensive to hire it out ($1500 just for the stallion side) but it's done, looks great and we have him already hired out to work on the new BuyVM site too.
