    lol, just lol. :)

  • Seems like a good dude, he doesn't even mention as to why. I mean sure he says why, but not why-why.

It seems he has the same problem that I have when trying to explain what I do to my parents or other not very technical people... trying to simplify the explanation so it doesn't use tech terms, then figuring out halfway that your simplification makes no sense, then changing it, and so on... and eventually just giving up on explaining because you can't explain it in simple terms.

    In general he's right.
But he, as a spokesman, could have problems with the law in the Netherlands, I guess.
I don't know how hard the cybercrime laws are in the Netherlands but I think this wouldn't end good for him.
Now I'm interested in the topic of Cyberbunker. Has anyone experience with these guys?
Do they sell servers? If so, what's the price for the cheapest one?
P.S.: Seems like cyberbunker.com is down too.

Yes. Cyberbunker has declared itself as an independent country, and they use part of the bunker as a datacenter. They rent out servers (typically with somewhat outdated hardware), host "anything but child porn and terrorism stuff". They also used to host The Pirate Bay at some point. They prefer payment in gold or other non-government-currency means of payment :)

Sounds like a bit of Sealand for me.
Anyhow thanks for all answers :)

  • Interesting facility.

They are getting smacked though. Have had their share of criminal elements on their network. So it's a magnet for malicious traffic and probably big time monitoring upstream.

Spokes person was okay. Strikes me as Russian.

What are the procedures? Can we do that? Wouldn't we be taking over a part of the US... wouldn't they retaliate?

  • Good luck with the independence movement :)

Their declaration is umm well, token and useless.

Do they have land for military? Does NATO and other bodies recognize them? It's fun the stuff techies cook up at times.

They can try. I just declared the air above me a no fly zone.
