Running a Tor Exit Node for fun and e-mails
This post from a few days ago suggests that running a Tor exit node is not that much of a hassle, operationally or legally:

One of the comments points out that with the current average price for IP transit at $0.63/Mbps/month, that the OP was getting quite a subsidy from KeyWeb for running 50Mbps continuously for only 4.90 euros.

What are some other Tor exit-node friendly low end box providers?
[What is up with the tagging system? It refuses to take "Tor" as a tag.]

Not worth the risk in my opinion. You have no one to point your finger at when the police come knocking so it's going to be you they charge.

I knew a guy who ran one. Constant complaints of spam signups on forums and comments on websites plus other stuff. Depends on how "abuse friendly" your provider is and your configuration of your exit policy on the node.
Run a relay instead. No problems with those.
Yep. Based on direct abuse I see from Tor "users", I block subnets that allow exit nodes.
