Hello guys,
This configuration:
Intel Xeon E3-1230v3 / 8GB RAM / 240GB SSD + 1TB HDD - SUPERMICRO + IPMI @100Mbps
for
$40/month.
It's worth pricing?
Comments
Good hardware for that price tag, what provider/location?
Yes. It's worth it. Brand new, such a server should cost around US$700 to buy and around $10 /month in electricity.
Assuming you get 1IP and use moderate-low levels of traffic, you're looking at operating costs of about $20 /month, which means $20 is going towards hardware.
Okay maybe its not NEW NEW but if it were new, rent of $20 on hardware worth $700 is cheap.
@mtsbatalha That price is pretty damn good. For a similar config with just a 1TB HDD you'd be looking at $49 at least!
The question IMO should be not "is it worth it", but "are there any better deals around for the same price or cheaper". And yes there are (SoYouStart -- Online.net -- Hetzner), unless you absolutely require the peculiar configuration of
or need the particular location that this is offered in.
Yeah, I live in Brazil, on this case I think that USA locations is better due latency.
Well, the cheapest one SYS curently has in Canada https://www.soyoustart.com/fr/offres/op-sat-1.xml -- 6 cores at 3.1GHz, 32 GB RAM, 2x3TB disk, 250Mbit network -- all for around $39 i.e. about the same, with way more disk space, RAM and bandwidth, but no SSD.
Or here you can get similar SSD+HDD combos but for much cheaper: https://www.nocix.net/dedicated/
Many thanks for the suggestions.
Unfortly, the SATA port is not SATA 3 for Nocix and SyS AMD server and don't have SSD disk and IPMI.
Anyway, thanks very much man.
You didn't specify if the 100Mbps port is metered or not.
As others are pointing out you can get a better offer within that budget, however you need to take in consideration the quality of serivce, support and other factors.
Yeah it's unlimited traffic. Also I can order 1Gbps Port for more $ 10/month
who is the provider?
Alnitech.
