Cloudflare SSL Full Strict on NAT IPv6 only without port 443 possible?

my server only ipv6 and not assigned to port 443
i understand SSL doesn't need to be 443
but VPS <-> Cloudflare <-> User

Will cloudflare be ABLE to take securely with my server not having port 443?
My server has RapidSSL running previously from DigitalOcean.

  • Nope, for Full Strict to work CloudFlare need to connect to the server via port 443

  • Thanks for the prompt reply.
Looks like I wasted my $$ on my SSL cert T.T

    I assume this is a IPv4 & IPv6 NAT/forwarded server/VPS?

Why not just have it talk over :80 / :443 on the IPv6?

  • @bustersg When you say you got IPv6 NAT is that a nat vps with a shared ipv4 ip, as most nat vps come with a dedicated ipv6 address

  • ya i-83 vps with dedicated ipv6 addr + some 20+ ports (ipv4) i think

  • interesting. i googled but not many articles on ipv6 ssl so it never came across my mind that i can
    deploy ipv6:443

will give it a try and explore this area. thanks!

  • theoretically, my prev site on DO running rapidSSL
    i migrated to i-83
all i have to do is export the CSR, CA, Key, Intermediate, CA-bundle etc etc files to i-83 server.
    it should work right?

there is NO need for me to go and revoke / reisssue the SSL cert, right?
    domain wise is the same.

Yer, there is no need to reissue as ssl cert is not tied to a ip address, as long as you copy over the cert, key and Intermediate/CA-bundle it should work fine

  • Thanks @Razza
