Why are @ replies to me not working?
Is it just me, or are @ replies not working? As in, they don't trigger a notification next to my username when I log in? Is anyone else having this problem? It's rather annoying, I like to know when someone mentions me, mostly because it might be in answer to a question I asked.
Comments
@DStrout did it work?
Yes, but it could well be because you responded to my discussion, not because you mentioned me in a comment on someone else's discussion.
Just as a for instance: this comment, though it mentioned me, did not trigger a number next to my username.
Just @'d you in the cest pit. Did you get a notification of that?
Click on your name and you can see if it is because someone mentioned you or because he replied in your thread.
Go to http://www.lowendtalk.com/profile/
Click "My Preferences"
Check everything is fine there.
I recently got this issue too, I'll have a look at my settings. It's driving me nuts
I have also now that I think about it. I will see ten notifications come through But only when I focus on this page/tab in my browser. *May be that's not what you mean. Hmm.
Hmm, seems to work OK now. I wonder if it's possible that I'm not notified if the @Dstrout appears in a quote? The post I linked as an example was like that.
You aren't notified if you are at the start of a quote as far as I know.
@Infinity I was notified of the post you just made, but it does have @DStrout in it twice, one of them not at the beginning, so...
And if you're right, that's still a bad idea - I would want to know if someone quotes me, because they usually follow up that quote with a response, just like sans-quote, like I'm doing now with your username.
Nope didn't realize @mrowen mentioned me.
+1
I guess you shall have to complain to Vanilla, I'll check around to see if what I said is actually the case though. I could be wrong.
@Infinity - I think you are wrong, I saw this post of yours as well. It's like when I mentioned it, enough people started responding and posting back that if forced the notifications through.

@shovenose - I'm here.
@OP did it work?
yup
I was putting on a pun. @OP is a different username entirely. Ah well.
I see now. Ha ha!
Can someone @ me please?
@shovenose
@shoveweb
@shovevps
@shoveventures
@shoveinsurance
@shoveeverything
@shoveLET
@shovedomains
@shovededis
I think I got them all...
Seems to be working erratically then...
Someone @ me. I too don't get a notification when someone replies to me..

Thanks guys. Seems to be working now. But for the past few days it wasn't.
I don't seem to get it either.
