    Dear,
I use the wget command to download this time: http://speedtest.c1.nyc1.dediserve.com/1GB.test

It says that the download speed is 11Mbit/s. My VPS is located in New York. Is this normal?

Same here, my VM in JKT unable to reach 10Mbit/s download speed.

    try re-install system if possible.
i had this problem when download was only like 2mbit, then i rebuilt system followed by the instruction guild by online support...everything settled.
    as i said before
dediserve's support team are as good as they actually are.

    Thanked by 1dediserve

The problem is not my VPS, but their link:

And this is what support said after checking into my server:

Its the reasonable speed because of the high latency and there is nothing we can do to improve as its based on the DC network we use.

Really, I admit that for the price in JKT I can't complain. But.. I was once able get more than this

  • If it as better before have support check your nic drivers, etc. As you can see you can get fill 500mbps wire speed to local checks, and we have the same capacity to Singapore and transit as we have in local peering.

I have two servers with you, but the results same.
Anyone in JKT can confirm this? @rokok @tommy

  • I wonder how much do you expect @NanoG6?

  • I remember at least I can get around 100mbit to SG and LA. Don't you?
@lontong, local speed (JKT) above is only for comparison, not that I'm complaining about it.

    Thanked by 1dediserve
  • Getting to SG at wirespeed should be the easy part - we've 10g between JKT and SIN

    Thanked by 1NanoG6
  • 100mbps to LA is a bit unrealistic I guess :)

Lol I doubt you can get 100mbit to SG from JKT. Might even be a problem with their SG network. From SG Below.

Even from newmedia (I believe is dediserve's own upstream?)

Though I made 2 support tickets about latencies from my home network - most of the 'resolution' revolved around my local ISP being the problem.
