I also tested with GeekBench 2: http://browser.primatelabs.com/geekbench2/1778342

CPU is Intel Core i7 2.9GHz (Dual Core).

Would you consider this score right? Or is there something wrong?

Comments

  • totally shit result, I get over 1000 on a 64mb VPS with 1 X3330 core.

  • It's right, Macs aren't worth their price :)

  • whyw would they call a dual core i3 style an i7?!

  • @BronzeByte said: whyw would they call a dual core i3 style an i7?!

They came with i7's... Apple refuses to acknowledge hyperthreading as cores.

But an i7 is quad core... HT sucks imo, only purpose seems to be to look cool in front of your friends showing 8 cores in task manager

Mobile i7's from that time period are not. See: http://ark.intel.com/products/series/64892

Already found that out, but why call them i7's when they have the capabilities of a low clocked i3?!

EDIT: Marketing of course "hey guise, i haz an i7!!!"

Hmmm, no no, the shit is unixbench...
    The geekbench score is fine.

  • Apple can't just sell a i3 and brand it as an i7, surely?

  • They don't, Intel itself sells it as (mobile) i7.

I don't really care about how my MCBR performs, I'm very satisfied with the display, and the general use performance of the machine. I use it mainly for web stuff, text, Skype, email, that sort of thing, which influences my opinion. Plus the Macbook has a better build quality than any Windows laptop I've used before.

  • Non-macbooks also used this mobile i7 line in the past as far as i know, so all mac haters might quit whining now ;)
