  • Yes didn't think that was it but I want sure if the site you came across was an article from a third party or the main site itself.

I've seen that server pic somewhere. Not the exact one but something similar for an automation tool like the one you're after.

I found it. First thing that loaded was the ampersand sign. Then the server rack photo and it screams bootstrap.

GODDAMN, THANK YOU SO MUCH. WOW, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.

    How did you find it??

  • Also, brb while I add all of these as alternatives on alternativeto.net :)

  • Let's rejoice in this moment. Well I spent many hours looking for an alternative to Puppet. Along the way I've either tried or read about most of the ones mentioned in this very thread.

I figured it had to be something new. When you mentioned bootstrap, I definitely knew it had to be something definitely cutting edge. So I searched ansible on hacker news using Google and read alternatives to it. Low and behold the first thing I saw on the link below was "cool interface."

Well, thank you so much for your dedication! I had added it in my bookmarks Feb 27 so maybe I should have looked through there better but to be fair, I didn't think that I added it there. If there were LET gold, I would buy you some but if you have a reddit username that you wouldn't mind posting... :)

What do you know, its php mostly. This is awesome, I dabble with php as well so this interests me even more.

I'm currently using cfengine and ansible for quick changes against many hosts at once. The ui for commando is clean and pretty to look at.

Im glad I stuck with this treasure hunt. ;)

Sorry I don't reddit and you are very welcome. I'm going to take this tool for a test drive.

  • Added: http://alternativeto.net/software/commando-io/ (might not show up until approved)

I'm also in the process of adding pretty much everything else listed here.

  • OK, I just spent too much time on AlternativeTo adding everything so here they are. Please like them and correct anything if you see something wrong. Thanks all for your contributions (especially @sdotsen)!

  • Hmm.. I'm having issues with command.io connecting to mongo even after I've added the standard indexes, @MrOwen care to lend a hand :-)?

I wish! Too much damn school stuff to play around with any of these :(

    Maybe @sdotsen knows something?

  • Haven't installed it yet. What seems to be the problem?

  • Hey guys. I am the founder of http://commando.io. We've been working hard on our hosted version of Commando, which is much further developed than the open source version. If you guys would like a private beta invite, let me know.

    Cheers.
