(Kimsufi) Windows

hello kimsufi lovers,

I was lucky enough to grab a KS1. I installed Windows (tried 7 & 2012 r2) so that I can seed easily some linux iso's.

everything works fine and smooth, but after 1-2 hours the server is unreachable and impossible to ping it.

I tried it twice with 2 different templates, but I am facing still the same problem.

Is your license activated? If not, you'll probably be encountering hourly shutdowns.

    8.1 works well I find.

Have you disabled Monitor in Kimsufi control panel?

    yes

    I use Windows on several KS-1, 2A, 2E and 3C (and online.net and Hetzner).
When I create a template I turn the power to Always on (high power), turn off the screen settings (20 minutes to 0). And turn the monitoring off in Kimsufi CP.
It should work then. I jut made a template a few days ago.

And, I always run this command in elevated command line: powercfg.exe /hibernate off

  • did you check event viewer to see what happened?

so I switched back to Win7 and made some power settings and it runs smooth since a few hours. anyway thank you gents.

    kimsufi is the best

    Edit:

do you have some tips for securing a win7 server? (except an antivirus, firewall on, installing updates)
