Perhaps, but this does not mean it will be a good thing, nor that is will be just slightly worse than now.
People are bored with good life and stability, they want fast improvement and not be engaged with "the politicians". That happened in the 30s too. Now we have nuclear bombs as a solution to all the problems.
The best solutions are the simple ones, nobody has time to debate and think, just nuke everything and lets be done with it.
