That is a standard feature on our L5630 or X5650 machines as mentioned (Dell DRAC). This G530 package is bare bones, but it does come with support. If you need a reboot, something to be looked at or hardware replaced, just open a quick support ticket.

But if you need of a os reinstallation you must pay a fee.

Obviously you can't expect the world for $10 a month. The cost for their tech to re-install your server is much greater than your monthly fee.

Easiest solution, install SolusVM or some virtualization panel on your $10 server, then create a large VPS with all the resources and there you go suddenly you can re-install the OS on your VPS as many times as you want.

  • If its a non-emergency, non support related reload, > @zafouhar said:

^ This. Every single other server package we offer has no reload fee. There is only a small reload fee on the G530 in case of a non-support or non-emergency reload request.

I have found Quadix to be more than reasonable as a provider of low cost dedicated servers. When they oversold the $9.50 server during their last special they did not just cancel my order like many providers. Instead they gave me the option to refund, or wait a couple of extra days for the server. The server was delivered when they said it would, with a larger HDD (750GB - 4500hrs), and works as it should. A ticket request for reverse DNS entries was completed within a couple of hours. A ticket with questions about additional services was answered in minutes.

I agree panels are a nice feature, but I do not think that they should be the determining factor when picking a low cost server provider. I remember many years when all o/s re-installs were by ticket, it was not an issue then. and it still is not an issue to me now. The key factor is that they respond to ticket request quickly and competently.

The network has been steady, runs the stated 100mb/s upload, but is a bit slower on download.

If you provides rescue system eg. grml than I don't need that for sure. I can install any OS using the rescue system only.

Yes, we can place it to a live CD, set your IP and you can take if from there if you'd like. Our support is flexible, if you ever have a question, just open a ticket and ask :)

  • My last server was delivered in 3 days, I've had to wait months before...
