    PPPPPOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

  • Well, about monthly basis. Think.

1.2 euro/mo, 0.35 will take Paypal + ~5%. Where is a point to give monthly basis? Everyone is looking how to save money.

3months in advance is good, because bad customers do not want to pay in advance, because they will loose money. it is more safety for us and good customers.

  • YOU DIRTY SPAMMERS.

Trust me thats nonsense, I have had customers that have been spammers yet paid for a vps for a whole year. they where indeed refused a refund..

  • @DanielM said: I have had customers that have been spammers yet paid for a vps for a whole year. they where indeed refused a refund..

That's borderline theft. Even if your TOS states no refunds, at least be honorable and do a pro-rated refund for the remainder of a billing cycle.

  • Well, but this is more safety.

We all know how to hard to clean information about IP.
As I remember, we had dedicated servers with monthly basis offers. We got lot's of spammers, botnet owners, phising sites, malware. We change to 3 months in advance. What did we get? We increased sales and got good customers only without spam, botnets and ect.

    @Aldryic said: That's borderline theft.

Maybe in US & Canada, But not here. And if the customer violated the tos and also costed us money (By them getting the ip's blacklisted) why should they be refunded?

    UPDATE
Let me make my comment more clear, they can get a refund if the TOS has not been violated (a simple dmca/copyright notice is fine as we ignore these anyway). But are you telling me if a customer of yours violated you're tos and got you’re ips blacklisted you would refund them?

  • @Aldryic said: That's borderline theft. Even if your TOS states no refunds, at least be honorable and do a pro-rated refund for the remainder of a billing cycle.

Nope, they break the ToS, we keep the cash as a clean up fee. Granted at the $8 a month price point, we don't get many spammers.

@balticservers said: Well, about monthly basis. Think.

Wow, he actually paid attention for once.

This is still weird though. Over at WHT, the poster is articulate. (I think that's the correct spelling.) Here, he's just an asshole.

@Joel said: rumor has it apparently his specialty is hosting a certain type of pornography that includes animals.

Nah, we already have one of those already. The spot's already filled.

  • @DanielM said: But are you telling me if a customer of yours violated you're tos and got you’re ips blacklisted you would refund them?

If it's a minor violation and they managed to get an IP blacklisted, then they simply pay a small fee for me having to get the blacklist cleaned up. If the violation resulted in their termination, then the fee is applied to the account and subtracted from the remainder of the billing cycle, which is then sent back to them. Sure, we could keep all of the money, but that would make us no better than the scammer to begin with.

@drmike said: Nope, they break the ToS, we keep the cash as a clean up fee. Granted at the $8 a month price point, we don't get many spammers.

We debated that approach for awhile, but it's just too sticky of a situation. If the client is facing immediate termination, they'll already be losing access to the service; I would rather just break things off clean than have to deal with a PayPal hassle. From an ethical standpoint, I'm simply not ok with taking unearned money to simply issue a termination notice.

  • @Aldryic said: From an ethical standpoint

I have to disagree. They've put my (or what passes for mine) business at harm and possibly harmed other clients.

Not a biggie though. We haven't had that many we've tossed. Only ones that really come to mind that weren't spammers was that idiot in Texas and a soccer mom who was uploading and offering full knitting magazines that she had scanned herself.

I'm sure most spammers expect to be tossed anyway. From their side, I wonder how many would go through the trouble of filing a paypal complaint.

@drmike said: They've put my (or what passes for mine) business at harm and possibly harmed other clients.

That's true enough, but like you said, the severe ones are a rarity. I have a reputation as a hardass for a reason, and though there's nothing I'd like more than to really thrust some of those strawmen, it's honestly easier to just preemptively strike with a partial refund before they can dispute/chargeback.

@drmike said: From their side, I wonder how many would go through the trouble of filing a paypal complaint.

Surprisingly, quite a few. Which is the practical point behind the refunds as well.. if you throw a partial before they can issue a dispute, you've pretty much got a 99% chance of winning. Especially considering how immaculate I keep our records now.

  • @Aldryic said: the severe ones are a rarity.

Oh the severe ones are a bitch. Those get their data deleted and we keep their money. No option in my mind. I don't see those anymore because those folks rather have the buck a year hosts and we rate limit the mailing software that we install and support. There's um some tricks that we have in place for new accounts as well so soccer moms don't screw up anything as well that also plays havoc with spammers trying to make changes. (Excuse me for not giving details. Security of course.)

The borderline ones are the ones we have to decide on.

  • @LowEndAdmin said: Low End offers only. Currently a price point must be met

USD$7/month recurring on monthly billing, with no setup fee, or

USD$60/year recurring on annual billing, with no setup fee, if the provider has been in business for more than a year.
For currency other than USD, use the foreign exchange on the day of posting to verify the cost fits the requirement.
Do not list packages that do not pass the pricing test, even if you have one or more that do.

You violated most of rules :(

  • @balticservers I love how you're ignoring the replies about your post violations. Are you the new 123Systems?

I ordered their service few months ago and cancelled it few minutes after ordering when I found out their nowhere written strict "no tun/tap activation" policy. They promised me refund (it's cleary written in their tos and also stated at WHT in atleast one thread) and I got it in some week or so.
From my personal experience they offer refund (atleast on beginning) as long it's legit request (no TOS broken) but for many people here their offer without more or less LEB standard tun/tap feature isn't really attractive.

  • Spirit, We have made some changes: Look at the 1st post and you will see the line: Important!!! TUN/TAP is dissabled by default and will not be enabled!

Refund policy: 30 days money back guarantee, and money hold for few weeks to protect ourselves from malignant refunds. But it is possible to deal with us and very often we decide to refund in first week.

  • Why would you want to host with someone with the brain capacity of a chipmunk,
cough sorry I meant Andrius? Look at him, he just ignores all posts that advise him of post violations, and uses the time LowEndAdmin is away to exploit it. Seriously he should be banned from LET.

  • @balticservers said: We have made some changes

Except for changing your obnoxious manner of spamming, right? You must just be loving that @LowEndAdmin is away so that you can get away with this nonsense.

  • @balticservers said: UN/TAP is dissabled by default and will not be enabled!

What a stupid policy you have there, any specific reason for it?

  • And they do that on every forum they are on. Those guys are pure retards, they have no brain, they cant speak proper English, they have a crappy cheap servers room they built from EU funds.

Stay away, you have been warned. Don't even try to point him to read the rules, he couldn't understand.

  • @balticservers do you offer ipv6 addresses (real not tunneled)

  • dirk, no, we don't.
But we plan to develop near in future
