What's the usage for ARM based VPS

Came across few times that ARM based vps were offered. Wondering what's the usage context of this? As i know, ARM has only the advantage of low power consumption...

ARM servers are cheap, both for hardware and power consumption. Hence, a few places are selling them for cheaper than x64 servers. If you're okay with reduced performance and limited operating system selection, you can get hosting for a great price.

Maybe in theory and only if you calculate price per core. As for in reality, you can barely even find the actual prices e.g. for the Cavium ThunderX based hardware which e.g. OVH is using (I couldn't), let alone buy it.

Just because the Raspberry Pi is cheap, doesn't mean that the server-grade ARM stuff will be.

Anything you would run on a midrange performance regular VPS, except you can't install any binary-only stuff, which is most commonly compiled for x86. In other words if your current usage scenario of VPSes does not require any software beyond what's available with "apt-get" or "yum install", you're golden.
