Help Compiling ixgbe Intel driver on OVH and installing Stock CentOS 7.2 Kernel - Paid Job
Hi,
I need assistance in setting a server from OVH to the stock Kernel on Centos 7.2 and ensuring the network driver is compiled so that it will get internet connectivity.
I'm willing to pay $20 for someone to help me resolve this issue. Skype communication is preferred.
Thanks

Have you tried following this guide? http://blog.cuongnv.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Not sure if CentOS has dkms though.
I guess this is for the D-1540 servers?
Warning - I did not test it!
Install official kernel, then
wget http://elrepo.org/linux/elrepo/el7/x86_64/RPMS/kmod-ixgbe-3.23.2.1-1.el7.elrepo.x86_64.rpm
yum install kmod-ixgbe-3.23.2.1-1.el7.elrepo.x86_64.rpm
I tried that already. I usually don't have issues with this but it kept throwing this error when I tried to compile:
Makefile:75: *** Kernel header files not in any of the expected locations.
Makefile:76: *** Install the appropriate kernel development package, e.g.
Makefile:77: *** kernel-devel, for building kernel modules and try again. Stop.
How can you perform this if you got no network ?
IPMI
Yeah, but internet won't be available if the 10Gbe interface is not present...
I think you can do this by chrooting from the rescue system or even running the system with OVH custom kernel.
Pm me, can help you with it.
