Best OS for a headless Plex Server?

Whats the best OS for a plex headless server, in a performance point of view?

  • Debian 64/32
  • Ubuntu 64/32
  • xpenology
  • Amahi
  • FreeNAS
  • etc?

    Debian or ubuntu are my goto ! Install the .deb and be on your way!

    As experience shows there is not a big differences in performance regarding OSs. So in this case recommendations would be to choose OS you like most in general. For me it's Ubuntu.

    Always ran plex on Ubuntu since it's on plex supported list, it runs fine on Debian as well tho.

    I doubt there's much difference in performance for the linux OS's.

    I don't think there is that much of difference, too.
    Used it on Ubuntu 14.04 (32bit & 64bit) and Debian 6.

  • Ubuntu, from experience seems to be best supported less buggy with Plex. Not sure if its the main Linux OS they use/test there side.
