Although a VPN is convenient, it's not hard to setup a VPS with something like rutorrent/deluge and then just download your torrents directly from your VPS to your local machine.

Much faster and if your just downloading movies/shows you can always stream them directly from the box.

Might want to consider this as an option.

    Quickbox is really good http://www.torrent-invites.com/showthread.php?t=293308

A lot of people are just setting up a VPS to run OpenVPN for downloading torrents.
    Easy to setup as well.

Get this one for 29$ LIFETIME :) Despite the whatsoever "mixed" reviews Ive been with them for a couple months and they are very good acctually^^ They do have I think 3 or 4 Servers where they allow torrenting. Some EU some US :D

  • The seedbox scripts are a bit better. But if you want vpn

Ibvpn has torenting and or p2p servers dedicated to it. They have been decent and I've had their vpn service for about 3 years going on 4 now.

I haven't really used the vpn p2p portion but they use dedicated servers for those. Like all locations.

They also don't keep logs any longer than mandatory.

    They are a paid service.

With VPN Unlimited you can also try them for a few bucks for a couple days. If you like them just go for the lifetime plan at 29$ :)

Biggest mistake I see users make, is using public trackers, you will attract a flood of DMCA notices like this and get your service blocked. Find someone to invite you to a private tracker

Torguard.net is awesome. Use it on up to 5 devices. TGLifetime50 will get you 50% off for life. This is my affiliate link for TorGuard. I highly recommend their service.

This. Either make your own seedbox or buy one.

    Seedbox pros:

    • bandwidth dwarfs your home connection unless you like in South Korea or something.

    • uplink is usually much higher than small home uplinks, which means better ratios, which means faster downloads

    • thrash the hell out of someone else's disks

    • zero risk

    Seedbox cons:

    • You have to copy the files home, but that's not really inconvenient - setup your torrent client to email you when a torrent is complete, have a continuous rsync running at home, etc.

    • You have to sysadmin your seedbox

Buy a vps, setup rutorrent + you can create vpn with nyr's openVPN script.

    Double profit.

Just be aware its a pretty shit VPN. Try the Trial and you'll see that not only do they have a shitty logging policy, but they also have shitty speeds and terrible latency, along with on and off servers

No, clones of the original from my understanding, best to avoid.

Well I am using them since 5-6 months and very happy^^ Usually I get 95-100 Mbit/s in download and with them only around 80-ish but that's still fast enough for anything I wanna dl :D Their logging policy tends to be no log but still their their provacy lacks^^

Cant complain for 29$ lifetime though. Gaming also works with it so Id say it is your choice if you have a budget but still have a fast network at home anyway. Because as Ive said 80mbits is still plenty^^

If you wanna pay a bit more NordVPN is best :)

NordVPN is definitely worse than VPN Unlimited.

  • Private Internet Access is good, IMO, and if you can stand being patient they usually bang out a sale every two or three months, it seems. Just missed a Memorial Day sale that had 2 years @ $59.

If you're using Docker at home (on your NAS or whatever downloads your files) there's also a good Docker template that has Deluge and auto-sets-up port forwarding to ensure the best Linux ISO downloading experience: https://github.com/jbogatay/docker-piavpn

Well NordVPN support just told me that VPN Unlimited speed acctually is decent if I still get 80ish mbits download from my regular 100 mbits dl^^

So as Ive said VPN Unlimited for 29$ lifetime is definitly not the worst offer to take^^

VPN speeds depend on many factors, one of them being how good is the connectivity between you and the server.

Shitty VPN providers using cheap networks will have worse speeds than those using Choopa or LeaseWeb for example.

Overloaded servers could also be a problem, of course.

I'd suggest you to get a cheap VPS and learn to run your own VPN. Commercial VPN providers are mostly crap.

Demonoid really isn't a thing, it came back but not like before and it's not that private

also IPTorrents is like, a pay-to-leech site

  • IPTorrents is like the Costco of torrents. Membership only, but pretty much everyone has a membership.

Personally, I'll find a location outside of home for use of torrent. My current provider has a strict no Bittorrent traffic policy (and does inspect packet headers outgoing...), so it's a no-go. I still maintain that usenet is the better way to go if you have a redundant system, else SlickVPN is really good at maintaining privacy and speed.

IPTorrents used my account during the peer stealing scandal at PTP and BTN. Use different passwords between sites.

Just signed up with Nord for 36$/y after I noticed all the Vpn Unlimited Servers had a DNS Leak^^ Let's see how that works out :P Flix works fine so that being one of my main reasons for vpn I am very happy :)
