Providers offering slot hosting

TheCTSTheCTS Member

Since Delimiter kind of disappeared from here, and stopped offering slot hosting... Are there any other providers out there that are offering slot hosting?

I have about a terabyte of data that I don't feel like uploading on my 4Mbps upload, and I'd rather "seed" it to a VPS and use that for storage.

Thanks gents.

@vapornode price point and bandwidth ?

  • @Mun Not willing to share anything like that yet - still got some work to do before Tampa services are ready.

I will follow this thread. If demand looks to be there for it I can set up a VPS just for people that are needing large storage space.

There will always be a demand for large storage LEBs.

I'm looking for slot hosting, and not necessarily a large storage VPS. Unless I can ship you a drive, and then you copy all the data off onto my VPS. Then we got a deal ;)

Just curious...what does slot hosting look like on the back end? Most 1U/2U/etc. servers don't have a lot of drive space. Are providers using USB- or sata-powered external drive docks, or...?

  • Anything external doesn't sound like a good idea. We'll be using those monster 4U supermicro chassis with 36 drive bays.

As soon as you have something ready let us know. I'm very interested.

:P It will be interesting to see how you cope with the volume of drives that defeated the last "Slot" Host
