Aren't these singlehop ssls?
No, the AlphaSSL certs sold there are not from Singlehop.
I mean the "Globe Standard" SSL
Globe Standard SSL is a product from globessl.com. As I've seen they don't sell the certs on there page directly anymore.
I see, thanks.
Yes, these are Comodo ProstiveSSL

Buy SSL certificates? Why on earth would you want to do that when you can get them for free now?
I think you guys forget some basis with Let's Encrypt. There is many advantage in a real SSL for business and not for a personal or blog.
What advantages are there in the $10 per year variety? 3 month renewal is not an issue. I just use cron for that.
Wildcard is more than $10 per year.
Insurance, credibility, browser recognition are the 3 firsts I can think of.
Cisco, Mozilla, Akamai, and IdentTrust don't give it credibility? Good to know.
The cross trust takes care of browser recognition so what is the browser problem you are referring to?
I always thought that insurance stuff was a joke?
Everything to do with SSL is a joke, it is a massive conspiracy praying on the less technically savvy. I guess Man in the middle is a valid concern now, but self signed certs were good enough for a long long time.
Nope is not. However the breach need to come from the SSL and not the server or admin.
@sman
Also, most company for CC need a valid SSL from Comodo, Symantec, geotrust, etc for PCI Compliance and not Let's Encrypt. There is a difference between business and personal. Let's Encrypt is not intend for all purpose.
I personally use it on some personal stuff, never on business side. There is a use for each product.
If it's needed for PCI compliance then that is a legit reason. I'm guessing it's only a matter of time before it is acceptable for that.
