I think so. We'll see if he still has as much to say without a signature.

  • Hello guys, I just wanted to confirm that the offer linked by ARiEWWW is active and you can get more then one. To be honest it's been a while since I've been on this forum, hopefully my account has access to make a post in the offers section.

@DediDirect good to see you here. You can post offers as soon as you comply with some simple requirements, read the rules.

You own those servers, I assume?

Are your $20 deals going to be somehow readily available over time? If so, is there any place I can link to showing them?

Just asking because I maintain a list of budget dedicated offers :)

Please considering to add second HDD as an add-ons.

I just got the dedidirect offer and the surprise me by double the RAM. Nice one.

  • Nyr, the offer has no end date. We have a lot in stock and will provide a week notice prior to ending it.

Edan, this is our base system offer, we can set you up with multiple drives just send us an e-mail to get started.

HWAYS, awesome! Sometimes when we have an excess free upgrades will be given to new signups, and at the moment we have lots of excess memory :)

Hope you guys enjoy our services! Working on getting authorized to make a formal post in the offer's section.

I was a DediDirect customer for a little while, and found the service to be good. Had a server in Chicago, and never noticed any downtime. Little to complain about especially for the price, although I wished their payment and ticket systems were better.

@DediDirect is it possible to get KVM connected to the dedi? cause I want to install windows since it's not listed in the OS list

Did you order it with double ram? Or did they just give you the upgrade?

I bought one to try. I didn't get the 8MB upgrade, but was promised 16MB on next one I bought. There is no panel. I/O seems slow. Bench.sh is reproducible at 80Mb/s. What are other users seeing? I've opened a ticket on the I/O and am getting help to try to improve it.

  • HWAYSHWAYS Member

Yes, the I/O is around 80mb/s.
Please let me know of your findings.

  • Hello guys, the memory upgrade is a random available upgrade depending on the convenience for us. You may make a request and see if we can hook you up prior to ordering.

As for the I/O if you're system comes with a 500GB disk it's just a normal SATAII HDD. You can make a request for a system with a 1TB W.D Enterprise RE4 drive which will have better I/O. We can offer other disks or SSDs at an additional price which you can request a quote for.

    That's normal for a regular drive non-ssd.

Well as for my requirements just average ram maybe 4gb would be fine but best processor I can get for as cheap as possible or just a range of prices/performance up to 20 dollars.

What are vps offers like in terms of price/performance hit compared to dedi? like i say processior speed is only real concern. Only need a few gigs HD so the most basic would do there.

I am wondering if i can manage with a cheaper vps. I can tell you that my dacentec $2 dollar vps is not fit for the job as it crashed mulitple times when I tried to run scripts on it :D. I think it even crashed when i tried running on 1 thread so need more hardware power than that for the task I need it for though its fine for other things i do.

  • @lowendguy7

You don't need this VPS 24/7 correct? Only for encoding the occasional video and that's it?

  • @lowendguy7, I think the base server is more then enough for you at a good price. Perhaps you can split the system into multiple VPSs and have your friends chip in to assist paying for it. Let me know if you have any questions

No. My requirements have changed. I don't need it for encoding now. I realised the one I have currently is fine for that for now. I need this for 24/7 usage yes for scripts that will post data to websites every hour.

How much ram did you select when you placed your order?

Didn't customize anything, so 8GB it was...

  • @d0gar00 check with me before you place an order if you're looking for an upgrade.

  • Do you have a test IP for the $20 server?
