Centos7 Kernel 4.x advantages and disadvantages

Hi

For a stable production VPS running Centos7 are there any advantages by running a newer kernel (4.x) from elrepo?

What about disavantages or problems?

    IMHO not much differences for VPS unless you are doing nested container virtualization.

    I use 4.x in production dedi mainly for the better support for newer SSDs and higer RAM (> 256G)

    Cons? If some new kernel panic happened, you are on your own.
