What payment gateways do you use?

I'm trying to decide whether to use PayPal, Stripe or Braintree etc.

I'll be taking payments varying from £100-£450 using the Blesta hosting panel. I'm using it to generate invoices and give a quick access panel to cPanel for my customers (I don't do hosting for the public, only people I do web design for in the local area)

I had a look at reviews about Stripe and it has a LOT of very bad ones making me feel a bit worried about it.

I need to take payments by card or bank transfer so that is a must.

So what does everyone else use? How friendly are they and do they work with Blesta?

  • We use blesta and use the default PayPal integration. Beware, if you do use the stripe gateway you must be PCI compliant.

Braintree is pretty good from what I've heard.

We personally use 2CheckOut, but their fraud detection system is not the best - in our experience. Manual checks is necessary.

    Direct PayPal is also good.

I do not have an opinion on Stripe - never used it before.

PayPal is the most widely used payment gateway so we must support it...

We use Stripe as they can even accept payments from confirmed Alipay accounts...

And Bitcoin and CC via Stripe too.

2CO is the pits, they validate a cc payment and nulls it a couple of hours later for fraud, plus the attitude is like "ONLY a couple hours", nothing to shout about whereas we've already delivered by then.

I think so far Paypal is the most popular payment service internationally, if in China, will be Alipay.

PayPal and BrainTree separately. BrainTree also supports PayPal but I don't really like their design.

  • Stripe & PayGol

We've been using PayPal, Stripe, and BitPay without too many issues.

  • Our shop's been using PayPal for the low end users and Stripe for situations where we need to grammatically verify that the user is indeed legitimate for the fully virtualized offering.

  • 2Checkout is a good but extra +1 to PayPal.

  • Paypal definitely works very well and of course good old fashioned Wire Transfer as well

  • Try this - https://ipsp.com

Some kind of fresh view. :)

Stripe also has a redirection to accept cards through their gateway (similar to PayPal) directly in the case you can't store cards due to compliance issues.

  • braintree seems to be aquired by paypal

  • PayPal & Virtual Credit Card

Any CC gateway who can accept Asian market? Tried PayGol, but their CC webpay can't be opened in China

    Did you tried - https://ipsp.com

Some companies prefer not to deal with China.

AFAIK, Stripe and 2Checkout work properly.

PayPal, Stripe for Credit Cards, and Bit-Pay for bitcoins :-)
For the people that would like to pay per bank (SEPA), we're offering Bank Transfer as payment method.

Wonder if chargeback-rate on Stripe is higher than PayPal, any experiences with that?

  • We use 2CO and Bitpay.

Do you even understand what "grammatically" means?
It is used like "your sentence is grammatically incorrect."

Also, you you know what "virtualized" means? I have no idea what a "virtualized offering" is.

  • We use Paypal, Skrill, Payza.
