You will get support from cpanel directly, irrespective of where you get the license from. That is what I have heard, I might be wrong though.
If your reseller accounts are costing you less than $100/month, I'd stick with them for now. Unless you're finding being a reseller particularly restrictive, in my opinion at that point it's much better to chill with the reduced workload and prepare for the day when you simply can't justify not renting your own server(s).
