Dedicated server

Hi all,

I need a cheap dedicated server to run proxomox on.

My requirements are ok ish processor (old xeon will do)
2x hdds for mirrored raid (software or hardware)
Multiple ips for vms to have

Couple tbs of bandwidth and cheap upgrade options for more bandwidth

Decent sized disks 250gb +

Can anyone help?

Never tested SW raid my self but from their wiki:

Proxmox VE does not support Software RAID (mdraid). That means, its not tested in our labs and its not recommended, but its still used by experience users. If you want to run a supported configuration, go for hardware RAID.
If you still want to use software raid, you can create required raid level during Debian installation and then install Proxmox VE. Look at the external links below and the following pages:

Yes $1 would do in dreamland however I want a dedicated server to have power and be useful not be $1

So although I want cheapest possible I'm also going to emphasis the possible I'm realistic and would love a dedicated server for $1 but also appreciate that the power to run it for half hour costs more than that

Can you let us know location?

If its all for testing purpose and like that
    https://www.wholesaleinternet.net/
    or
    datashack.net

    go with the preconfig.

  • How many additional IPs are you looking for and what's your budget? We can do this for you in Netherlands for 25 EUR monthly (or 0.0576 EUR/hour):

    Intel Quad-core Xeon X3430 (4x2.40GHz)
    4 GB DDR3
    2x250 GB SATA
    IPv6 available
5 TB bandwidth (renews every month, suspended on overuse or charged €6.5/TB)
    Dedicated 1 Gbit

  • What location are you after?

  • qpsqps Member, Host Rep

See my signature - Dual L5520 for $40. We also have a Core i3 530 for $29.99 or X3470 for $39.99 in Los Angeles.

We can do 2x 500GB drives instead of a single 1TB drive in Los Angeles for the same price. Just open a ticket after ordering and we'll update your order. Please note that we can't offer this in Atlanta since we don't carry 500GB drives there.

    Thanks

Anywhere with good connectivity back to the UK

what about a box in the UK?

    Hello,

I can also offer a box in BG or UK. Relative cheap.

Also have some cheaper Xeon 1220's in the UK.

  • Would a server in a Tier 3+ facility in Dallas, with an IPMI and DDoS protection included interest you?, connectivity to the UK is pretty good, superb hardware and a pretty good pricing(surely not LET pricing, but relatively cheap)

    Oh, would it?

    He said dedicated, not cloud.
