1and1 dedicated servers, three months free (+ setup fee) - 12 months contract

In case anyone is interested, 1and1 is offering three months free on many dedicated servers (you pay only the setup fee, 49 or 99 Euros; Phenom, E3, E5.).

I don't like 1and1, so I don't even try, this time.

You can pay monthly, however there is no free server for you then

I generally don't understand why people pay for a server upfront for more than 3 months. Hardware's value is decreasing so quickly that it's just not financially arguable to rent a service for a year, unless it's hugely discounted (which it is not, in most cases - apart from a setup fee of around $40 being lifted from these payments).
