2GB KVM, East Coast

so I somewhat lost track of all the recent offers...

I am looking for a decent VPS with 2GB RAM, ~20 GB disk, 2 vCore would be nice, 1 IPv4, 500GB bw should suffice, shared 1Gbps preferred.

  • I'd prefer an east coast location like NJ, NY, Washington DC or maybe Atlanta.
  • full virtualization only, so KVM, XEN hvm or VMware
  • budget: not more than $4 p.m. , I am ok with yearly payment.

please note, I am not willing to raise the budget, so no need to post anything above!
but I may go with other locations within north america, as long as the connection seems decent...

I will not need support, as long as your hardware and network is working properly.
please no blacklisted IP crap, I need to have a correct rDNS to be set (at least via ticket), as I intend to run xenforo on it, which for sure will send legal mails to the users.

I'd probably try the vpeasy offer at $28,8 first year which matches all criteria besides the location - if no one else comes up with something better ;-)

(just to proof that there are offers within this budget)

  • Don't think you will find many offers. Vpeasy seems like the best bet.

I indeed thought something like that, but maybe I did miss something in the last weeks...

Or someone would like to have a nice and not complicated customer as I am and therefore do a custom offer just to show me their love ^^

If 1 vCore is OK, VirMach offer special 2GB KVM for $36/y in Atlanta.

ah, seen that before, but have been out of sight, wasn't @VirMach the one who purged those TE idiots out of his nodes? definitely will consider him - thx ;-)

    Hi @Falzo

Did you find a VPS that meet your needs? I'm looking for something similar.

I am with leaseweb in washington dc for quite some time now. even took advantage of their last sale (20%) - while it's only 1core/1GB at 3.80 € I am very happy with the performance.

I also have a cvps KVM in New Jersey for personal VPN use... 4Core/1GB at verrry cheap ;-)
while IO sometimes may be floppy this thing if still going strong and perfect for my usecase.

    # uptime
     03:56:43 up 189 days, 14:15, 1 user, load average: 0.34, 0.12, 0.04

for the moment I have no need, but if I would look for something else, I'd probably consider also speedykvm with their NYC offers (if a 30% coupon is around) or get a slice.

anyways I have to admit, there is not much matching the initial budget with 2GB/2core KVM at around $4 so @vpsrus offer seems very good... I am even tempted yet to try out of curiosity ^^
luckily he didn't provide any order link :-P

  • Check out LaunchVPS they did me a good deal before. They are in Philly and have quick servers for the price.

took on the deal he offered above...

for the mail-limit I can't say much about as I usually don't reach such limits. maybe speak to speedykvm about any kind of warming up strategy or something like that. legitimate mail shouldn't be a problem today.

I alrady speak with @speedykvm to see if they allow whitelabel to a specific external mail server IP or even a external mail service like Amazon SES and their response was no. Not even on V-Dedicated plans. Their VPS and network are really good...
