Looking for DDoS protected VPS for gameserver

HackcraftHackcraft Member
edited March 2016 in Help

I am looking for a VPS to host my Garry's Mod game server.

I am looking for:
DDoS protection which also works for gameservers,
Won't nul route for 24hrs (I will bit hit around once a week probably),

1vCore around 3Ghz - and won't care if I use lots (my Vultr 2.4GHz VPS used around 40%),
512 - 1024MB RAM,
15GB+ Storage,
300GB+ Bandwidth,
Supports 32bit Ubuntu 15,
Costing: £0-4,
Hosting in or very near London

Finally I don't want to have to mess about sending pictures of my Pass Port etc (that's why I am not using OVH).

Thanks!

    Why?

  • Why should I have to mess around sending photos? Why can't I just buy it!?

Just use an OVH reseller. They usually don't require you to send photo ID assuming you pass fraud checks.

I bought a Kimsufi and didn't get asked for ID, have you tried that?

  • Kimsufi is a little expensive and I don't know of any resellers other than Verelox but I want to try someone else.

What about location? As a gameserver(s) owner, this is extremely important.

London or maybe Europe if it's a good price

When it comes to gaming I recommend NFO , they have good ddos filtering and since the srcds is single threaded you can just get their single core for $9/m, the reason it's a bit pricey is because of the ddos protection and you have a dedicated hyperthreaded core. They only have 1 location in Europe though and it's in Germany.

When I bought a couple years ago, I was asked.

I have tried NFO before and their "dedicated" core "vds" is weaker than most VPS at almost half the price...

Also I used Zare and their network is terrible for gameservers.

I'll have a look at blazingfast tomorrow, thanks!

Yeah they do null route you if you get hit with a big enough attack, but I think they only null route you for about 2-4 hours. I run a decent sized community with 10 servers and haven't been null-routed in a year. If someone really wants to pay $5 every 4 hours to null route a server they can go for it.

8 hours per null, 3 nulls and people will think if play on your servers or nope (if they pay VIP or something)

Their server perfomance is awesome, their support pretty fast and help me a lot in different questions. But their network... Oh man, after this guys and few more resellers of voxility i start to hate this network as much as i can. The most weird network for game servers in Europe. What about their ddos protection, these guys saved me a lot of money for ddos protection at server begining. But after some time, i was move out from them back to OVH, because it's impossible to feel so many pain from network lags & downtimes every fcking single day man.

    France OVH with Anti-DDoS PRO.

I don't know if the server is overloaded.

    CPU Cores: 1vCore
    Dedicated RAM: 1GB
    vSwap: 1024MB
    HDD (Storage): 75GB HDD
    Bandwidth: 250Mbps
    Burst: 1Gbps
    Traffic: Unlimited
    Anti-DDoS: 480Gbps+

    $6/m

I reinstalled Debian on Main PC, creating new antiddos_eu_providers.txt antiddos_us_providers.txt :(

    EDIT:

    https://lowendbox.com/tag/france/
https://billing.needassistant.com/cart.php?gid=12 $5/m (not sure if they have Anti-DDoS PRO w/ Permanent mitigation)

As for OVH FR, you can try Verelox, for instance.

Ginernet offers AntiDDoS VPS in Spain.

    Thanked by 1Verelox
  • Thanks for the links and suggestions, I have a lot to look through now xD

i can do on protection (standard price 9€/m for 100Gbps DDoS protected ip). If you need vps just buy vpspro http://www.seflow.net/2/index.php/en/services/vpspro/vpsprotech (with free protection) in Milan and i will add free 15 days trial on Pro protection.

    Regards

  • I currently have a Vultr VPS but it has been nul routed 2 times so far and I haven't even had it a month xD

Kimsufi is actually good for that, Dedicated CPU which is a good thing for Garrysmod instead of a VPS and the DDOS Protection.

We had a Dedicated there for our Community, it did well.

But the Support, if you have issues or such, you need to wait.

Which is bad for a Gameservers which is quite active when the Dedicated fails.

It's a standard practice if you get DDoSed on non protected service. Company need to save his network and other customers.

    We can do this:

    2 Cores @ 3.40 GHz
    1 GB DDR3 Memory
    15 GB SSD Storage
    100 Mbps Port Speed
    Unmetered Bandwidth

    AntiDDoS included, for €5/mo: http://stablevm.com/

If 100Mbps isn't enough, we can upgrade the port speed for free.
There are already few clients hosting Minecraft and CS gaming servers.

Kimsufi is OVH. It's just a subsidiary company. If you hit their alerts, you'll still get checked. :)

I'm aware. But that wasn't the case with me.

I ordered from OVH directly and got asked to provide ID, and I decided to just go elsewhere.

Then later I ordered a Kimsufi with no ID check.

  • Check this: $5.61/month

    1 GB DDR3 Memory,
    1 GB Swap,
    2 Cores Intel® Xeon® @ 3.2 GHz+,
    40 GB RAID Storage,
    Unlimited Traffic,
    1 IPv4 Address,
    DDoS Protection,
    KVM Full Virtualization,
    1 Gbps Port

Our servers are located in France, Europe within the OVH network. Anti-DDoS Protection is included as standard.
